How does the tax deduction work for state and county transfer taxes?

The my wife and I are buying a new home in MD where charges of transfer of county and the condition will be about $ 8000. We are going chiuderci in December this year, but probably will take a standard deduction. We can deduct the fee for transfer of ownership even if we are going to ask the standard deduction this year? It is the transfer of tax deductions or credits?
